How to mix

For new plantings: Work plant food into the garden bed at a depth of 1 to 3 in. by digging or tilling. For larger plants and shrubs, mix plant food into soil around root ball.

For established plants: Carefully work plant food in the soil around the plant. Avoid piling plant food against the stem or trunk.

Bulbs: For planting or feeding individual bulbs, mix with the backfill soil as you plant.

Tips

For success: Regular feeding promotes big, strong plants with colorful blooms and bountiful harvests.

Don’t overfeed. Overfeeding can be as harmful as underfeeding. Feeding too much can cause weak growth to become susceptible to pests and diseases. Different plants have different plant food needs – find out what your plant prefers and keep a regular schedule.
